On Friday, The Utrecht Pigeon delivered a dozen sunflower plants that were grown from seed to the community garden of the Brooklyn Public Library’s Dyker branch, where they will bloom for the library's visitors to admire. The sunflowers are a valuable addition to the green space of the neighborhood library and reflect our commitment to young people within our community.

In October 2023, The Utrecht Pigeon sent a request to 311 for new trees along the perimeter of the football field on 79th St. Today, the NYC Parks Dept. installed two new cherry trees, which will benefit the local community.

Editor-in-Chief Michael O'Hare visited the student government of New Utrecht High School. He delivered a speech about barriers and inequities to student success aiming to help foster a more responsible and inclusive school environment. O'Hare thanked the government for the opportunity to speak.
